Started with two desks and one rule: no hand-offs
Maya Okafor founded the studio in 2014 after ten years at big agencies, where the people who pitched were never the people who did the work. She wanted a studio where every client talks directly to the designers, writers and developers making their brand.
Twelve years later we are eighteen people, we have launched more than 140 brands, and the rule still holds.

Every brand is built around a single, simple idea. If we can't say it in a sentence, we're not done.

No juniors hidden behind account managers. Directors work on every project.

Real work every Friday instead of status decks and long reports.

Two desks in Williamsburg
Maya and Theo start the studio above a bakery with one client and a borrowed printer.

First packaging award
A tiny hot-sauce brand's labels win a Pentaward and put us on the map.

Digital team joins
Luca and Jonas arrive, and we start building the websites we design.

Film studio opens
Sam builds our in-house film and motion studio on the second floor.

Four-day week
The whole studio moves to a four-day week on full pay.

Named Studio of the Year by the Brooklyn Design Guild.

The team behind the work
Maya Okafor
Founder & Creative DirectorMaya started the studio in 2014 after a decade at two of London's biggest branding agencies. She leads our creative direction and still designs on most projects herself.
Theo Lindqvist
Design DirectorTheo grew up in Gothenburg and spent six years designing packaging for Scandinavian food brands before joining us in 2018.
Aiko Tanaka
Senior DesignerAiko brings colour, 3D and a lot of curiosity to every project. She joined from a motion studio in Tokyo and now bridges our identity and campaign teams.
Luca Moretti
Head of DigitalLuca leads our websites and product team. Before joining us he designed banking apps used by four million people, and he still gets excited about a good empty state.
Sam Adeyemi
Film DirectorSam directs every film we make, from 6-second social stings to festival trailers. He started as a music-video editor and still cuts most of our work himself.
Clara Vance
Art DirectorClara leads our campaign and photography work. She has art-directed shoots on four continents and has a gift for finding the real story inside a brand.
Priya Raman
Strategy & Copy LeadPriya turns messy workshops into sharp sentences. She leads our strategy practice and writes most of the words you see on our clients' packs and sites.
Jonas Weber
Lead DeveloperJonas builds the websites our designers dream up, and makes them fast. He cares about accessibility, clean code and pages that load in under a second.
