Your first boxing class: what to expect

Your first boxing class: what to expect

Every week someone walks into Boxing Conditioning convinced they'll be the only beginner. They never are.

Before class

Arrive ten minutes early. We'll wrap your hands, find you gloves that fit and show you where to stand.

The warm-up

Skipping (or shadow skipping), mobility and a few rounds of shadow boxing to learn stance and guard.

Bag and pad rounds

Three-minute rounds on the heavy bag, building one combination at a time. Then you'll partner up and take turns holding pads.

Nobody is watching you. Everyone is too busy trying to breathe.

The finisher

Five minutes of core work and a proper cool-down. You'll leave tired, sweaty and very likely booked in for next week.
