Call straight away if your pet
Struggles to breathe
Open-mouth breathing in cats is always an emergency.
Ate something toxic
Chocolate, grapes, xylitol, lilies or medicines.
Is bleeding heavily
Apply firm pressure with a clean cloth on the way.
Collapses or has a seizure
Keep them somewhere safe and time the seizure.
Has a swollen belly
Especially large dogs retching without vomiting.
Has heatstroke
Cool with tepid water and come straight in.
