Our story
Considered clothing, made slowly by people we know by name.
It started with one coat
Ines Moreau spent ten years designing for big fashion houses before she left to make a single coat she could not find anywhere: warm, unlined and built to last twenty winters.
Twelve years later we make around sixty pieces a season, all in natural fibres, all in small family workshops in Portugal, Italy and Japan.

Our four promises
The rules we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold us to them too.

Natural fibres
No polyester fillers or blends to cut cost. The one exception, recycled satin, is labelled clearly.

Known makers
We work with twelve family workshops and publish every one of them on our product pages.

Small batches
We make runs of a few hundred and restock only what sells, so almost nothing goes to waste.

Repairs for life
Buttons, seams, zips and elbows. Send it back and we will fix it, free, for as long as you own it.

2014
The first coat
Ines sells 200 wrap coats from her apartment in the West Village.

2017
SoHo store opens
Our first shop opens on Mercer Street with a repair bench in the back.

2020
The silk workshop
We begin working with a family workshop in Porto on bias-cut silk.

2023
Los Angeles and Chicago
Two new stores open in Silver Lake and the West Loop.

2024
Fair Cloth certified
Every workshop we use passes an independent fair-wage audit.
