Layering texture for a warmer home

Rooms that feel cold are rarely about colour. They are usually missing texture. Here is how we layer materials in every project.

The rule of three

Aim for at least three textures in every seating area: something smooth, something soft and something rough.

Mix the scale

A chunky knit throw on a fine linen sofa looks deliberate. Two similar weaves side by side look like a mistake.
